Medicare has introduced item numbers for phone consultations in response to the Covid-19 virus pandemic.

Telephone consultations are privately billed and can only be provided for those patients who have had a face-to-face visit at this surgery, in the last 12 months.

Telephone consultations will only be bulk billed for pensioners/Healthcare card holders, for children 5 and under, and in some cases for very brief consultations.

For all other patients telephone consultations during business hours will attract a fee of $75.00 with a Medicare rebate of $41.20 for a standard consultation. After 6pm, weekends and public holidays a standard telephone consultation is $86.00 with a Medicare rebate of $41.20.

Telehealth is not available to new patients.
